This was an “Electrifying” race!

First I would like to thank the Wilkinson Family for allowing our club to use their beautiful property. Second, I would like to extend my gratitude to John McIntyre. Without his presence this weekend I really felt, and now appreciate beyond belief, what he does for this club. I am also very thankful that Theresa is well and already on the way to recovery. We love you both!

Set up began on Thursday night with the arrival of tents, porta-potties, refrigerators, etc. and continued straight through the weekend. It all ended with the pick-up on Monday morning. Everything was packed away and rolled out, with the anticipation of taking out everything to allow for clean-up and drying off.

Friday night was an absolutely beautiful night. The stars were out and the weather was perfect. Some of our club members were set up and already staying at the race sight. Four wheelers were carrying people up and down the hill and the field was buzzing with activity. Pete’s camper was the place for us all to gather and catch up and listen to story’s. Thanks for the fire pit Eric and thanks to Ty for driving it into place. My bed-time came pretty early after a day of food shopping with Alison and setting up. The night didn’t end early for a few others though. There was alot of laughing and drinking and visiting going on. Some people didn’t know they were going to have visitor’s, right Steve Bellemere? He was surprised when Buzy and friends came into his bedroom wanting him to get up. Then wanting their “second feeding”. There was also some racing going on….and not only by the kids. There were some adults involved too. I was going to call them “grown-ups” but that just didn’t seem to fit. Paul was going to be in bed “no later than midnight”, so when I awoke to a loud noise outside of my camper and saw it was 1:45am, I gave him a call. He was racing 4-wheelers up to camp with Willy…but they were being chased by Ethan who was driving his mothers Denali. There was then a short discussion of acting our age and such. Paul did make it in around 3am for his “second feeding”.

Saturday came early for some of our members…what a surprise. We all started working and got busy. Believe it or not, Paul tried to sneak off and get in a bed a few times. Thanks for getting him up Dickie. The pee-wee race had a great turn out and all of the riders had a great time. Our own Chase Gosselin did a great job. Along with Hannah Sorel, and many others. After the race was over and the cleaned up was done, preparation started for Sundays race. Finally it was time to relax, eat a great chicken dinner and have a beer or two. Which I think most of us did. There was a huge bon fire (kids, don’t start a fire like Paul did at home) and a DJ playing some……tunes? Again my night came to a close early and again, Paul was going to be in bed between 11 – 12pm. He did arrive quietly this time at 1:30am without looking for a “second feeding”.

At 6:50am I flew out of bed. I was suppose to start sign-ups at 7:30. Wow, was I late. The team pulled together for a second day in a row and things just fell into place. Sign-ups started and the coffee was brewing, bacon was sizzling and the day had started. My focus turned to the mini race at 8:30 because Jordan was racing. He needed to win this race and had been working out hard in hopes that he would. I am happy to announce that he did win the big-wheel class by 1:17…He was thrilled and realized his hard work had payed off. All other races went off without a hitch. There was virtually no problems. Well, if you consider the over heating of John Wilkinson’s bike and Adam Volpi having difficulty during his race. He must of ate bad chicken the night before, a problem then there might have been a couple. Other than that, Eric even noticed that his radio hadn’t been going off. GREAT!! I also want to say that JIM SENECAL pulled off the win, which he needed as well. Good job Jim. Okay, the racing was over, the food was done being cooked. The mess was under control and the majority of the racers had headed home. NOW…comes the real story…..

Most everyone had settled in and began to relax. We waited for the “pig roast”, chatted with friends, shared a few cocktail and watched the storm clouds roll around in the mountains to the south and west. As the clouds got closer, it got darker and the winds got stronger. Then came the rain….. The tent we were all standing under started to take flight. Everyone standing under the tent grabbed hold .Well, Paul did let go at one point to get a few beers from the cooler. He said his workers were getting thirsty. It must have been a sight. We witnessed a bolt of lighting start a fire off in the distance and we heard the tornado whistleblow. What was next? The kids were getting very upset and things just were not letting up. The guys holding the outside of the tent felt an undeniable jolt. We didn’t dare get into our campers because of the wind but we couldn’t just stand under the tent any longer either. Despite Paul’s efforts to convince us, by singing “it’s almost over”, to hang in. Some of us retreated to our cars. Finaly, it did come to an end and we are all OKAY. We were a bit shook up but okay. Thank God!

Monday morning found the place a wet, muddy mess. The members that remained cleaned and wiped down what we could. Put things away and commenced to sliding out of there. All that started well, ended well. We will wait to hear from John if through all of it we made any money. I sure hope so!

Again, Thank you to John McIntyre and Eric Kipp and to all those worked so hard to make this event a success. Also, great job to everyone who raced.

I Hope to see you guys at Unadilla, and if not at the next race on September 18th. Be race ready.

The most peaceful two days in a long time where spent in a beautiful field, high above the town in Manchester, Vermont at the 2 day ride.

Ivan had invited us all to a two day ride at his place in Manchester. If you haven’t yet done this ride, you must. Paul and Jordan went and had a blast. They put on almost 100 miles over the weekend and there wasn’t one complaint (weird, i know). Pete, Dawn, Jeff and I stayed behind and held the fort down. Somebody had to enjoy that weather and view and peace. We reluctantly volunteered. The food was great, the bonfire was even better and the friends superb. We met some great new people and connected with some old ones.

Thank you Ivan for this wonderful experience and we cant wait until next year. EVERYONE…..take my advise and attend next year. You will be happy you did.

John has taken on alot of respossiblity for the club. He has worked had for us through thick and thin. Even when things were going rough for him, he still plugged away for us never once turning his back. He has taken our children under his wing and help develop them as not only riders, but good club members and citizens.

I want to thank him from the bottom of my heart for developing such a wonderful club that I am thrilled to be a member of. We wouldn’t be what we are without you John!

The 3rd race is done and over and we are in full swing of the 2011 race season.

I think many racers are happy that Tuxedo Ridge is over. I have never heard so many complaints on how difficult the track was. There were also a few other complaints, but we will get into those later….Overall Stateline had a great day with 9 victories with 4 of which were overalls. Great Job Stateline..way to dominate.

Saturday we arrived at the race site to find most everyone from Stateline Riders already there. The camping was nice. No leveling your camper necessary since we were in a parking lot. The night was much colder than most of us had anticipated. We all sat shivering around our campers, no one was willing to give it up early. The Tahoe camper headed to bed around 10:30pm with many left huddled around Jamie’s make believe fire pit. For some reason things got much louder outside once I went inside. At 10:45 I did request, very nicely, that everyone tried to quiet down, right B.O.B? After they dragged the make believe fire pit elsewhere, things did settle down. Okay, maybe not for B.O.B!

Sunday morning was absolutely beautiful. The sun was shining and the air was warm. Sound test and sign-up went smoothly and the mini race was ready to roll (no pun intended since the start was on a steep incline). The big wheels took off first shooting up the hill around the rock and down and back up and down and back up. Did I mention that this race was held at a ski mountain? The boys (and two girls) raced up and down the slopes, and race they did. There was a great race going on between a few of the racers…Cole Hall and Ethan Wilkinson had a battle going for a bit. So did Tanner and James Skinner, Jordan and ….. well after the first lap Jordan had a very nice lead on the rest of the pack. Then there was Simon Johnson who shot off the line as if he was shot from a canon. We was zipping around the course like an angry bee then, trouble…he left the track angry like a bee and came back a few minutes later ready to sting whoever got in his way…The track was incredibly difficult and I give them all credit for making it around. I had my own difficulty just walking up and down to see them race. The race finished like this (after the LONG wait for scoring to be posted); Simon finished the race 12 in the mini class. The key word here is FINISHED. After coming back from a fouled plug to continue hauling his 65 around that mountain was awesome. Tanner had a great race and finished 4th in class. Aubrey took third and Savannah had a fantastic showing and finished 1st in girls! In the big wheel class Ethan finished 6th, great job for only your 2nd race with Cole finishing 4th despite the injured wrist. Jordan finished the race with a 5 minute lead and he overall-ed the morning race. Great job and way to hang in there kids!

By the mid morning race the weather couldn’t have been nicer. The people running the race at the ski lodge could have been nicer but. This was my complaint, ”drinks” not allowed. I have, again, never heard of such a thing. Racing, hot, dehydration, danger….and “drinks” not allowed, wow. Do you think this rule had anything to do with them wanting everyone to buy a drink from them? No problem, right? Gatorade $3.25 for a small, Water $3.00 for a small, Beer $5.00 for a small, warm beer. Okay, enough.

The race did not start on time for the novice group, surprise! But once it did, wow….If the track was difficult for the mini race, now it was just plain hard. Additional track had been added, more rocks, tight turns, trees, anything to make matters worse. Those guys did fly up and down that mountain though looking very good, just tired, hot and thirsty, no drinks for you..haha. I would love to tell you how this one turned out but I went back to my camper to get a drink. No, just kidding… the line for the protest was around the block. The results of this race were not worked out and awarded until right before the awards for the expert race. I do know that Nick won the C open class with a 3 minute lead even though he pushed his bike across the finish line and that Taylor Johnson killed the womens class coming in 1st!!!! Brad Darling won the C250 class. Both Conner and Brandon had great finishes too. I also have a word to the wise; before you protest, look through the entire list of names in your class. Just because you dont see your name around where you think it should be, like 6th place Brandon, doesnt mean it is not on the list. Go all the way to the top of the list and see if it is there! Anthony Maxon DNF’d..I do not have any other results but I do know that Stateline had a very good showing. Good job guys!

Crazy I know, but the expert race went off late too. I know I am repeating myself but, once this race did go off, wow! They flew up the hill and around the rock and off into the distance. Dillan had some difficulty, not with the start, he exploded off the line, it was when he headed into the distance he started to wobble (not use to the new rekluse) and he was sideways in the track just in time to be stuffed harder than I have ever seen anyone get hit right in the side by Jason Klammer. The bike went flying, Dillan went scrambling and all that was left was dust. By now the track was almost impossible. I witnessed 30 bikes at one time in the rock garden. They were either stuck, tipped over, or waiting to find room to move through. The sight was unbelievable. Paul and John Wilkinson worked for over an hour helping riders drag their bikes through this rough section. Jamie was off in another area lending a hand. I am so impressed how these racers kept it together for all the laps they did. Well, Nate just threw his bike down and started punching another racer ( i saw the video it was pretty funny). I think the fight threw him off because his finish wasn’t what it usually is. Talk about hold it together…Ty Kipp high pointed the A race and finished 7th overall. Not only was he riding with the big boys, he was showing some of them how it is done! Amazing race Ty. After being stuffed like a turkey, Dillan finished 5th right behind Jim Senecal. For the A-vet class Digger finished 6th, Buzy finished 5th and Todd finished 4th. In the A senior class Marty finished 1st and Doug finished 3rd. Eddie was another one our first place finishers. He took that trophy in the Bvet class. Mike O’Brian ended up 8th in B250 and Luke came in 4th in B200. Luke was the only rider I saw go through the rock garden without any trouble, just steady as he goes. For DNF’s we had Zack Mossey and Dylan Corcoran and a DNS for B.O.B (because he didn’t go to bed when he was told and couldn’t even race on Sunday)

I want to finish up by saying “WOW”… great job again to everyone who rode this course. I heard riders like; Jim Senecal, Sean Leveque and Kenny Law saying this was the worst course they have ever raced. Kudos to those who attempted and finished.

See you all in a few days in Eastford, CT sooooo be race ready!!!

The 2011 race season is off and running !

Well, here we go again. Another race year has commenced. The first one is under our belts. The snow was over our boots and sun was at our backs.

The trip over to East Kingston, New Hampshire on Saturday afternoon was not as nice as our day on Sunday. Everything started out just fine. We were locked and loaded with Mike Corcoran following behind with our trailer and over Woodford mountain we headed. We soon noticed the light snow we were fore casted to get was getting heavy. It was only suppose to last for an hour….although it had been snowing for 4 hours. Traffic was almost at a stand still. Well 12 miles an hour seemed like a stand still. Believe it or not, Paul did not take kindly to going that slow. We were passing people on the right and flashing our headlights at people, beeping our horn and, I know this is going to surprise all of you but, there were even a number of obscenities shouted. We did make it to our hotel. The 3 1/2 hour trip just took us 4 hours and 45 minutes. After a great dinner with great friends we tucked ourselves into bed knowing the morning was coming fast…

At 7:30 am we pulled into the most incredible scene….A horse farm was allowing NETRA to hold a motorcycle event! It was an absolutely beautiful place and was put together so well. There was a warm work shop to sign up in, change your transponder and even get the most yummy baked goods. My hat goes off to the Sea Coast club for putting that together. Okay back to racing, The kids were all geared up and ready to go.. you could see the butterflies dancing in the air that were escaping from their bellies. Jordan was ready, telling everyone “my bike has never run better, its starting like never before”. Tanner was excited, no sign of Skinner! Aubrey had it made, no other girls. Things were looking good for the Stateliners. To the started we all headed at 8:45. The riders meeting was brief and everyone was ready to go… The green flagged dropped and the first line shot off the start…..everyone except for Jordan. He was still kicking his bike. After the 5th kick he shot off after everyone, taking a few in the field. Cursing all the way I am sure. The mini A line next… Tanner looks over and there is Skinner…OMG. The green flag dropped and they headed into the field. All looking good. Lastly, the mini B line and Aubrey fired into the field to catch the other racers.

I was feeling a bit sad…the first race of season didn’t look so good for Jordan. Paul decided to wait in the pits, I headed to the straight away in hopes that he would come through eventually… I didn’t make it very far when I heard the first rider coming. To my disbelief it was Jordan. My first thought (sorry Jordan) was “did he miss part of the course”. He had actually caught and passed all of the big wheel riders. Good job Jordan! Tanner and Skinner were coming through, the battle was definitely on. . They both dumped it right in front of me and several other people. Tanner came around the corner and was celebrating he was out in front of Skinner. Then… he dumped it. Skinner came flying around the corner saw Tanner lying on the ground and thought “I will get by him now”…then he dumped it. Tanner was the first guy up and flew down the line with Skinner in tow. Aubrey was looking good. Driving herself right along the course. After what seemed like an eternity, the race was over. Or so Jordan thought. He got the white flag twice and headed back out when he had actually won the race. We did catch him in the field section so he could return to the pits and celebrate coming in 1:28 ahead of everyone else. Tanner came through ahead of Skinner to bring the 1st place mini A plaque home and Aubrey took home the 1st place girls… Great start to the season kids. Once again you make us proud.

The novice race only had a couple of the Stateline riders present. Nick Matherson return from sabbatical to try again and Brendon Jacobson was there to represent the Pownal boys. The track was starting to soften and the novice group didnt have the good fortune that the kids had. Nick lost his breaks and bowed out and Brandon finished ??? Sorry I do not have the results yet. I will update as soon as I do.

By the afternoon the sun had taken the chill out of the air. Just joking, I think it was just that I was frozen by then and couldn’t feel anything anyway. The guys had their butterflies too, don’t let them fool you. Dillan and Dylan said they were a bit nervous. Buzy didn’t know if was nerves or just that he was hung over. To the start we went, Stateline was well represented in the expert race. The green flagged dropped and off they went. Dillan and Jon were gone. Then went Rob, Buzy, Nate, Zack, Adam, Luke, Chad..The race was on again. Out in front for our group was Jon. He was holding the 3rd place spot with Dillan in 4th place. Rob was out in front of the Aopen class. Buzy couldn’t keep the bike upright if his life depended on it. I saw him dump it in the field section at least 3 times. Maybe it was a hang over Buzz. Nate was having a bit of difficulty himself. His first line through the deep snow did not prove to be a good one. Adam, Luke and Chad were moving right along. Didn’t appear to have any trouble. Here is another one that you are going to find hard to believe but; Jon was having mechanical difficulty. His rear tire was well, lets just say not very intact. He DNF’d the race along with Nate, who blew his bike up and Dillan who tried to go around Jon only to hit a tree with his head and lose his front fender and number plate. Rob motored right along the track whizzing by everyone and finishing 1st in class and 2oth overall, great job and congrats on the AA point. Buzzy did manage to keep the bike upright and finish the race in 4th. Good job for your first race in Avet with a hang over! Adam was another one who whizzed by everyone and finished 25th overall and grabbed the B overall. Great job Adam, glad you came out of early retirement. Zack also had a great ride. He finished ?? in class. Luke was looking strong and consistent out there, he finished ?? in class. Chad, after being out because of serious back trouble, finished the race in ???. Great job everyone. I am glad there were no injuries to report only a few bruised egos. The first one is done…on to the next.

I hope to see you all at the banquet…or at Gordy’s Be race ready.

This post has been a long time coming…I know, go ahead and swear at me it’s okay.

I am sorry to say this post is still not going to be complete. For some reason my computer at home does not allow me to go on the the Netra web site and I am unable to retrieve the results.

What I can tell you is we all had a wonderful time at the last race of the season. Tension was a bit high for some people who needed this race to either keep, or better their position for the championship. Most Stateline riders had a great ride. Jordan Griffin however, lost his back breaks at about the 2 mile marker in the first lap. Considering it was an extremely fast track it was a bit difficult for Jordan. He did get a fourth place though, good job Jordan. Cole Hall had an awesome ride finishing in the top 10 overall in the mini race. I am not sure but it was like he had wings that morning. Ty Kipp had a great ride but almost had to forfeit it do to a wheelie after it was over.

I will be back to update this page tomorrow after I get on the Netra site and get the results.

The Hard Knox race seemed to be a little bit harder for some of our State line Riders than others. There were a few that took some Hard Knox….

The camping field started to take shape later Saturday afternoon. For awhile there, I thought we were going to be the only one in the field. As the day grew racers started to pull in and set up their sites. By bed time the field still wasn’t as full as they usually seemed to be. Maybe it is because the season is drawing to a close, or maybe because we live closer to this race and people didn’t feel the need to stay the night before, or maybe because the weather was a bit colder….or maybe it was a combination of all of them. Regardless, Saturday was cool and clear and a few of the racers sat around the fire talking strategy for Sunday and smack about other racers. Some of them even drank beer, go figure that one. The Cummings/Griffin camper went to bed very early. Paul and Jordan had a job to do Sunday and they weren’t going to take any chances this time. There is a battle out there for 2nd, third, or fourth place in each of their classes and they are both shooting for low number.

Sunday morning was cool and crisp, an awesome fall morning. The sound of the bikes started early and everyone was ready to go. On the mini line we had Tanner and Jordan and in the mini B line we had Si-mean-O. For girls there was Aubrey and Savannah. The flag dropped and the line shot off. Jordan had the hole shot and zipped into the woods. The Mini B line went off and by the time they reached the woods, Simon was in second followed closely by Savanah and Aubrey. Paul and I zipped from spot to spot ( thanks for the ride Frank ) to see them blast by. There was a nice battle between Simon and Jake Davenport. They went back and forth between second and third. Jordan had a battle going for second place and Tanner was moving right along. Watching the little guys come through the rock garden was very impressive. They moved right through. I did help Jordan up in there once and told him to stand up, it would be easier. he answered me with SHUT UP, that would be easier. I stopped talking to him after that. Tanner went right through and so did Simon. Simon did stop us in the motocross section to talk about his banged up pipe. We very gently encouraged him to hurry up. They finished liked this…. Jordan did not pull of second ( I think it has something to do with not standing up in the rock garden, he does not ) he got third. Tanner took 8th. Simon dropped back a few spots and got 6th. He was very worried about that pipe. Savannah had a great finish again with First and Aubrey rounded up the field in third. Good job you guys, you make us proud every time.

By 11 am the sun was bright and warm in the sky and they riders were lined up at the start ready to go. They flew into the woods and all had a good race. Sawyer Gosselin had a great race and finished 4th in C200. Zach Rose finished 5th in C250 with Conner following in 6th and Brad Darling in 7th. Brandon Jacobson got 14th, I am not sure how all the beer panned out for him on Saturday night. I do know it was a rough Sunday afternoon. Tyler Rose finished up the class in 15th place. Good job guys and it is almost over.

The afternoon was gorgeous! The weather could not have been better. Well, maybe a little breeze would have been nice. The riders were all ready to go and didn’t waste anytime when the flagged dropped. Dillan decided to collected some orange fencing around the first corner but I don’t think John wanted him to have it because he was pulling it back away from him. Jon G. was knocked over in the first corner but was able to get right back up and go. The rest of the field had a pretty good start except for Zack M. someone thought they should hit him and stuff their handle bars so far into his bike it took a couple of people to yank them apart. All in all they started off okay and were ready to win. I must say alot of the expert riders didn’t go through the rock garden as smooth as the mini riders. Except for the ones that were standing up, right Jordan?  Paul’s race with Doug was on… he would come through first and the next lap it would be Doug and so on…. neither of them looked like they were having fun. Speaking of not having fun; Nate took a nice spill in the rock garden. When he finally got up he was swinging and running after his bike which, had been moved so he wouldn’t hop back on it. He did not finish the race. Mike O’Brien ended his race after 3 laps. He left the race in an ambulance and ended up with a few cracked ribs. Hope you too make a quick recovery. Eric Desrosier only did 3 laps too. What happened to him??? Another DNF rider was Jon G. that guys knows how to ride like no other, now we just need to teach him to stay in the game. The bunch finished like this;

Dillan took 5th in AA – great job Dillan. I think John should let you keep the orange fence. Ty Kipp had an amazing race and finished 3rd in A200 and 20th overall. I think there is some AA points with that finish. Todd finished 9th in class. I don’t think he liked the Hard Knox. Paul was able to skim by Doug and finish in 1st place. Doug got second and didn’t stick around after the race. We missed the smack talk between you and Paul. I hope you weren’t pouting. Digger had a great race too. He finished 2nd in Avet with our superhero sidekick finishing 3rd. Did you come into contact with some kryptonite? Speaking of hero’s, yup, Buzzy did it again. He finished 1st in class. His theme song is, Oops I did it again by Britney Spears. When you see him just sing that song. Zach took 4th in B250. Great come back Zach! Luke finished 11th in class and Jamie Sorel grabbed 7th.

I am sorry for those of you who took the Hard Knox last weekend and I am proud of those how managed through it all. Actually, I am proud of all of you! especailly those how took the Hard Knox. We have a great club and I am happy to be part of it.

Have a great week off and we will see you at the Hoot’s. Be race ready!!

SWEET SUCCESS!

I am going to say our race was a complete success. I am also going to say that it happened to be great because of all the hard work that our club members endured. Countless hours were put in by almost all State Line Riders and it certainly did show. I heard many people talking about how much fun they had and what a great club we seemed to have. I want to personally thank everyone for all their hard work and dedication and I know that Paul feels the same way.

We had great weather. A bit of rain would have been fantastic, but we managed without it. Our lungs may need a good dry cleaning now, but we did manage. The Pee Wee race went very smoothly and all seemed to have a great time. Scoring was a little mixed up at the end, you will have those crazy parents who need to talk to you while your trying to keep track of laps and final times just to see where their kid finished, but it all worked out didn’t it John Gosselin? It just took me a little longer to straighten things out. Just kidding John, we all had fun and I learned NOT to let the crazy parents talk during the scoring. Oh, sorry again John, just kidding. I do believe this was our most successful Pee Wee ride with 57 riders. Don’t quote me on that number, but it is close.

Saturday night the weather couldn’t have been more perfect. The chicken barbecue was a big success. We completely sold out and the band was a great big hit too. We were worried that the field would be flooded with Double Down followers but it turned out great. There were DD followers, they hauled in their fans, and still everyone behaved them selves. Well almost everyone. The music was great and the light show was awesome. Buzzy really enjoyed how the trees sparkled in the night. It was late and he had quite a few beers by then so its good to enjoy sparkly trees Buzz. Thank you to the band and our own State Line member Bee O Bee, you guys were fantastic!

Sunday morning came early to most of us, but we were up and ready for the crowds, and they did come. Sign up was very busy from 7:30am until 1pm. Thank you Sue, Crystal and Jen for all the help up there. It would not have gone smoothly without you guys. Most riders came through saying “that’s it, were done? well that was easy and painless.” There were a few though that we sent on wild goose chases between transponder, tech inspection, Netra sign up and State Line sign up but you will have that once in awhile.

Tech inspection went smoothly, transponder’s went smoothly, scoring went smoothly and the food tent went wild and smoothly. They were sooo busy most of the day. The line was doubled and all the way through the tent but they handled it all and very well I might add. Thank you all; Justin, Mike, Michele, Allison, Dawn, Taylor, Jen, I know there are a few that I am missing. I will come back and adjust as I remember who you are.

Did I mention that scoring went smoothly? The transponder worked through the entire thing! No problems, we had a couple of protest’s but that is nothing unusual. I do not think that anyone had a complaint. Not one that I heard about anyway. Hey wait, someone was complaining about the port-a-potty being out of toilet paper but I dug some up in John’s trailer and someone delivered to the potty and all was well in the world!

Sunday night was very peaceful and relaxing. Paul had built an awesome fire pit and there must have been 50 people that stayed and joined us around the fire. Some of us went to bed much earlier than others right Buzz and John M. and Todd? I must say they were all up again on Monday morning helping with the clean up, which went very well. Everyone again, pitched in and the clean-up was complete by around noon time. One final work party Thursday night at 6:30 just to make sure we picked up all the trash. Kudos to everyone for making this race such a success !!!

Speaking of success, some of our State Line members enjoyed it to the fullest!

Simon Johnson finished mini B in second place! This was only his 3rd Mini B race, good job Si.

Frank Griffis finished 3rd in C200, way to go Frank.

Chet Watson wasn’t so lucky out there. He thought he lost a couple of friends on the track. Then he pulled his pants down and they were still there. He finished somewhere back in the pack but was just happy to see his friends still hanging around.

Jamie Sorel finished 8th in Bvet, while Nate finished 12th in B250, Eric Desrosiers took 4th and Mike Obrien grabbed 3rd in B250. Good job guys! Zach Mossey finished 5th in B200 while Dylan C. took 2nd, great rides you guys!

Harry Grant finished 3rd in AVet and 32nd overall, awesome job Harry! Rob “Rod” Maxon kicked #@%$again! He finished first in AVet and 27th overall. Way to go Rod! Marty Mears finished first in A senior for the billionth time at a State Line race and 28th overall. Way to show them old guys can do it Marty!

Our AA racer’s finished with Ryan Bottesi taking 17th class and 35 overall and Jim Senecal had a breakdown and pushed his bike out of woods. He finished 70th overall.

Once again, GREAT JOB everyone! To all those who worked their backsides off, A MILLION THANKS for helping make this race a super success!!!

See some of you at Unidilla and all the other at Hard Knox! Be race ready and to you Buzzy, get some sleep this 4am stuff 4 nights in a row is going to make you grow old before your time.

Another great race! This is starting to become addicting; great racing, fantastic weather and awesome friends. What more could you ask for.

I think most everyone went to New Hampshire on Friday night. It certainly looked that way with the amount of people that were there when we pulled in around 7pm. It was an absolutely gorgeous night around the camp fire. Like I said this is getting addicting. I am not sure what I am going to do for the next three weekends.

The enduro Saturday morning took off without a hitch. They are still a bit complicated for me but I do understand that Taylor Johnston kicked butt. She flew threw the rocky course and finished 1st, again! Watch out boys, she is going to be kicking your butt soon. Actually, she may already. Nate Prouty rang his bell pretty good out there along with his knee and shoulder, in fact he did not finish the race. He was pulled off the course in the little red wagon! Poor thing. Sawyer Gosselin also took a pounding out there and didnt finish. Anthony blew his bike up yet again. Not sure how he does that every race. Dylan Corcoran seems to be the only boy in Stateline that finished and he took ?? . They don’t call it Rocky Mountain for nothing you guys. How come Taylor could handle it just fine?

After the racing was done a few of us decided we would take a ride around Alton. What a beautiful place it is. The lake was great and we even managed to find a little pub where we could purchase another drink since our roadies were gone. Maybe that is why Alton looked so good. Nothing like a good afternoon buzz.

Saturday night the Cummings/Griffin camper went to bed early. Watched a little bit of the movie on the side of the camper and off to bed. We wanted to be race ready. Paul really had a point to prove to Doug, or at least he had a lot of smack talking to do.

Sunday morning was beautiful. We are really getting spoiled with all of this good weather. The kids were all up and ready to go. The starting line was hot and dusty. The big wheel class jumped the gun and caused quite a commotion. Paul, believe it or not, put in his two cents and help them figure out what they were or weren’t going to do. They finally let the mini A line go and Jordan thought it would be a good idea to do a wheelie right off the line and apparently Simon thought it look like so much fun when they let the mini B line go, he did it too. Aubrey got the whole shot and was kicking butt through the first corner. They all headed into the dust bowl…. Everyone looked good the first time around and we stood and waited to see them again on their last lap. Jordan came around close to the end in third place by about half a second. He battle down the home stretch with everything he had…and took second place in the last corner before the transponder. Good job Jordan!! Savannah was the next one for us to see, still looking very strong, she finished first. Aubrey came around the corner looking a bit tired and finish 2nd. We stood waiting to see Simon and stood and waited and stood and waited… meanwhile he was out on his own track along with a sweeper. We need to get him a GPS for his bike. The good thing is he did well enough during the first lap that he still took 4th place even though he only completed one lap. Good job Si and congrats on your first mini B trophy.

By 11am the pownal boys were all suited up and ready to take their turn in the dust bowl along with the Griffis’ and everyone else. If you can believe it the track was even more dusty now. The finishes for the amature race are as follows; Frank J. finished 18th in class after finding the only mud on the mountain. Zach finished 6th in class and 19th overall and Conner rolled in right behind him in 7th place, 20th overall. Brad got 9th, 27th overall and Brandon 10th in class and Tyler got 17th in class. Bruce took 2nd in class and 25th overall and Robin 9th. Frank Sr. took 4th in C open.

For the next three hours Paul was busy talking smack to Doug. He explained how bad he was going to beat him. He talked about how he was going to take him right from the start. He even taped a nip of Yeager to the front of his bike to prove he could even beat Doug after stopping to have a pop. Karma really does suck.

At 2pm all of our expert riders were up on the start waiting to ride off into the dust. That was all it was….dust. You could not see anything after the bikes went by. The flag dropped and the AA line went. All looking good, I think. Dillan went down and a lot of riders went by. When the dust settle the next line went and so on…. Now, with all that talk about how awesome Paul was going to do wouldn’t you have made sure your bike started when it was your turn to go? Not Paul, maybe he was just trying to give Doug a head start. The dust had caused a bit of an upset in the front line. Doug Sherman was out in front with Jake Korn and Jim Senecal chasing him down along with John and Dillan. The course did seem to beat the %*@ out of everyone. Most riders looked whipped coming through the woods after the third lap. Not Buzzy though, he was talking and visiting and hanging out…having a grand old time. Nate called it enough after the first lap and Zack Mossey after the third. Dylan held on until the 5th lap ( i think) and the remaining riders did pretty good. The results go like this; Jim Senecal 2nd place. Jake Korn managed again to take first. John took 6th and Dylan finished 10th. Ty was cranking the entire race and his finish shows he gave it his all. He finished 2nd in class and 15th overall! Todd finished 4th in class and 16th overall. Rob was #1 again and was another one of Stateline riders to get AA points finishing 20th overall. Great work guys! Believe it or not, Doug finished 3rd in class no matter how much Paul tried to convince he was going to lose. Paul, believe it or not, did NOT beat Doug. Instead he bashed his chest off from the handle bars and choked his way around the track finishing 4th and 60th overall. Digger took 2nd class and 24th overall and Luke finished 9th, Mike took 6th and Buzzy…well Buzzy took 2nd. He looked great and rode great, but still finished 2nd. I guess he just had a bad day!

After trophy’s were handed out andeveryone was washed we decided to stay another night. It is that addiction i guess. The night was amazing, about 20 of us sat around a perfect fire, thanks to Pete, and laughed for hours. I just cant express how perfect it is, good riding, good friends, good weather…what a great summer. I hate to see it drawing to an end. Stateline race is next and I am sure I will see you all there. Remember, any contributions to the Yeager cooler let me know.

See you all at the race! Have your work face on.
